Kim Herlihy brings over 10 years of classroom teaching experience, including serving as a Title I Reading Interventionist, where she worked closely with students who needed targeted reading support. In addition to her K–5 experience, she is an adjunct faculty member at the College of Southern Maryland in the Early Childhood Education program. Kim is trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach and has completed LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) training. She has also served as a LETRS facilitator, supporting educators as they deepen their understanding of the science of reading and effective literacy instruction.

She believes that every child has the potential to become a strong, successful and confident reader with the right instruction, encouragement, and support. Kim hopes to build the confidence children need to create a lifelong love of reading.

Kim lives in King George, VA with her husband, two children and two dogs. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading and baking. Lately, Kim has been having fun learning the art of decorating sugar cookies.
