Amy Kappele is a retired early childhood educator and reading specialist. She has her undergraduate degree in psychology, a masters of arts in teaching early childhood and certificate of advanced study in reading K-12. Amy taught kindergarten, first grade and K-5 reading intervention for 26 years before retiring from her school district in Illinois in 2025.

She also trained and supervised reading paraprofessionals & reading tutors in various roles throughout her education career. Amy loves to work with students, families and teachers to provide all students with the reading instruction that they need to be successful and confident readers! Amy has been a part of the Literacy Tree team since 2022!

Amy loves the outdoors and she can often be found in Illinois, Arizona and Michigan taking long walks and hikes while visiting her three daughters and granddaughter. She also loves to take pictures and share her adventures and love for the outdoors with others!
