Alice Velthuizen

Alice Velthuizen is a retired Special Education teacher, specializing in an Orton-Gillingham approach to teaching reading. She also has a specialty in teaching English as a second language. Certified in Ontario, Canada to teach primary, junior, and intermediate students, Alice loves working with small groups. She served as the Director of Student Support Services and as an ESL teacher for 17 years, also as a classroom teacher for seven years prior to teaching Resource classes. Bringing the joy of reading to students using best Science of Reading practices and strategies makes her heart sing.

Currently living in Hamilton, Ontario, Alice and her husband love to travel to New York City, Chicago, South Korea, and Toronto to visit children and grandchildren.
